Middle & Upper Primary

Years 3 – 6 builds on the foundations set in the early years of primary school. As students move away from a more play-based environment, and a greater reliance on independence and self-management skills is needed, students experience a much wider learning program.

The middle and upper primary school program at Glen Huon Primary School continues to embed strong literacy and numeracy skills whilst expanding on the specialist subjects provided. Students in years 3 – 6 will experience a more integrated curriculum as learning areas such as HASS and English, and Maths and Science complement each other well.

As part of the year 3 – 6 learning program, the following specialist subjects are provided.
